Helping Children and Adults See a Brighter Future
and of course have the most fun while doing the most for your community
Our eyeglasses program is designed to help children and working individuals who cannot afford vision care. We believe that everyone deserves clear vision, and we are here to help those in need.
The program focuses on:
Write a letter explaining your situation and why you need assistance. Include details about your financial hardship and inability to afford eyeglasses.
You’ll also need a recommendation letter from an organization like Catholic Outreach, Mesa County Social Services, or a local church leader to verify your need.
Once you have both letters, send them to the Grand Junction Lions Club. We will review each case carefully and notify you of the decision.
We also participate in the Lions Eye Bank Program, which helps fund eye surgeries like cornea transplants and cataract operations. If you need help with these types of procedures, you will need to complete a detailed application, which includes medical and financial information.
Please note that while we aim to help as many people as possible, our programs are not designed for everyone. We suggest contacting other local nonprofit organizations if you are homeless, unemployed, or living in assisted care, as they may be better suited to assist you.
We review each application on a case-by-case basis. Even if you meet the general guidelines, there is no guarantee of funding. The Grand Junction Lions Club reserves the right to approve or deny applications at its discretion.
